Q. What information do I need to give to apply for a landline in Spain?
A. When you apply online, have your passport or Spanish NIE number (if you have one), full postal address (taken from mailing address) and your Spanish bank details for payment by direct debit to hand. You also need to give a Spanish mobile number (friend/ neighbour) where you can be contacted at any time for the engineer to call and arrange a time and day to visit your property.
Q. Is a telephone handset included?
A. No, the standard Domo phone is not included, but when you apply for a phone line, you have a choice; you can either use your own handset (if you already have one) or you can order a Domo Phone for just 36€, plus maintenance of 2.52€ per month. You can of course use your own cordless digital phone or hand set you may have already purchased in Spain.
Q. What areas can Telefonica Movistar connect?
A. They accept applications for telephone lines for almost everywhere on mainland Spain, the Canaries, Majorca, Ibiza and all it's other Islands.However, there is no guarantee you can definitely have a line: for example, if you live in a finca in the campo, or your new development or urbanisation has no central nearby or has no lines currently available.
Q. Is the cheap calls service to the UK and the rest of Europe included?
A. Yes, once your new landline number has been installed, we will then activate the Direct Telecom (CPS) automatic dial, cheap call service completely FREE of CHARGE. Direct Telecom (dT) are trusted service partners of ours who offer a multi-lingual cheap international calls service throughout Europe for ex-pats and foreign nationals residing in Spain.
You can save up to 88% on your phone bills because, calls to the UK and the rest of Europe cost just 3.3 cents a minute and there´s no connection charges either. A dT customer services representative will call you a few days after your installation is completed and explain how to use the service. You can also use the Telefonica 1077 calls prefix along side the dT service, if you prefer to do so.
Billing is by direct debit from your Spanish bank account.
Direct Telecom will provide monthly itemised billing for all calls made at their present rates. You can request paper bills and dT will provide you with a username and password to enable you to access your bills online.
Telefónica will continue to bill you for your line rental of 13.97 + maintenance + IVA per month and for any calls you make via 1077 outside your inclusive call plan at their present rates.
Q. Are customer services in English?
A. Yes, Movifresh will communicate with you throughout the application, installation and service activation process via email and your Spanish mobile in English.
Once your service has been connected, you
will then be given customer service contact information to call Movistar your line and Adsl provider and dT your European call provider in English if you have any billing questions or queries. |
